Synopsis: Current, relevant I/S and I/T skills coupled with real-world business and management experience. I bring technical consultant, project management and line management talents to bear in formulating improvements to all aspects of business information processing via use of appropriate technology. I'm proactive, ethical and have strong communication and people skills. I've maintained current proficiencies in personal computing, networks and client/server applications.

Summary of Projects: (Chronological order; Most recent, first)

I've been consulting for over ten years, and have provided a wide range of services to a diverse group of client companies. The work has been performed on direct contract and subcontractor bases.

Migration from Win 95 & Novell to MS Win/NT in a financial organization. Managed project and served as technical lead. Also set up Exchange server. Designed Terminal server/thin client environment for use in sixteen branches in eleven states.

Implementation of Oracle Human Resource package and conversion from ADP to Ceridian payroll service. Windows NT/Winframe platform. Performed Business and Systems analysis and project planning functions.

Software distribution from Server. Using OS/2, LAN Server, Rexx, Configuration, Installation, Distribution (CID) utility, set up server to distribute applications to OS/2 and Win 95 desktop PCs. Provided 2nd tier support to approx. 200 developers.

Win/NT Administration in a manufacturing environment. Was primary administrator over ten server, three domain LAN, spread over three sites. Day-to-day administration and 2nd/3rd tier support for over 100 office and factory users. Added disk array on primary file server, release-updated server and desktop software. Created one-of-a-kind configurations for special use. Served as console operator for HP-3000 mini.

LAN Server Administrator and server construction for a large insurance company. Provided LAN (OS/2, LAN Server, Win 3.11) administration and 2nd/3rd level support for Legal business unit. Built special-purpose equipment for remote office use. Built Win/NT file server, CD-ROM tower prototype for evaluation purposes.

LAN set up of new corporate headquarters of bank holding company. Assembled hardware, installed O/S and software for single domain, multi-server headquarters facility. Tested and enabled all applications and LAN-connected desktops and other devices. Developed procedures for day-to-day operations and disaster/recovery. Assisted in move and initial startup. Provided 2nd and 3rd tier support.

Installation of Netware 3.12 file server at a commercial printing plant. Constructed server and peripheral devices. Installed 10BASE-T ethernet wiring and hubs for about twelve network nodes.

Administrator of multi-domain, multi-building campus. Lead team of three administrators in support of LAN/WAN (bridges, routers, 37X5 controller) environment. Over 500 nodes. Responsibilities included support of a Netware 3.11 domain and an RS/6000 configuration. Most servers were IBM LAN Server. Desktops were OS/2 and Win 3.11. Implemented hardware and software upgrades. Created CID and dial-in facility.

Installed backup Netware 3.11 file server at retail company headquarters. Set up hardware and software on ARCNET for about forty users.

Constructed and tested eight servers for implementation in large insurance company remote offices. Coordinated installation with field operations personnel. Developed prototype server for in-house business unit.

Built prototype LAN Server and then rolled out eight to multi-site campus of large food manufacturer. Lead team of client personnel and coordinated efforts of remote-site technicians.

Performed product compliance testing in major communications provider laboratory. Configured, installed and tested a wide range of server and desk top application as well as hardware configurations. Provided 2nd and 3rd tier support to in-house LAN support team. Developed Rexx procedures for use by various support personnel. Trained in-house staff in LAN development/support.
